Ahoy!

Thank you for all the responses to my question. It seems most imagine
Felis sylvestris from the term "wild cat" of "Wild Cat Island" though
it is closely asscoaited with the image of Nancyish character or the
Amazon pirates themselves.

It is actually very close to what I imagine, but there is a slight
difference which is the degree of familiality to wildcat.

There is no Felis sylvestris or any other species of wildcat in Japanese
mainlands. Two remote islands are the only places where wildcat species
exist in Japan. I've heard of the name of these species but I have no
idea what they look like or how they behave. When I imagine wildcat, it
has no specific color, size, or behavior. I guess those of you who can
think of Felis sylvestris with some idea of what they look like and how
they behave are imagining more vivid wildcat than I.

Peter, I think you are more fortunate than most Japanese because you
have some idea of what feral cats in New Zealand look like even though
you didn't associate with a specific species of wildcat.

Cheers,
Tohru COOT Mori
