Dreams are the stuff of achievement for many people, but also the embodiment of relaxation for most of us on Tarboard, I suspect.
Maybe AR brings out the child in us because anytime we want we can go back and 'live' the adventures in the Lakes and Broads, feeling the way we used to do when bills and dreary day-to-day responsibilities had never even occurred to us.
I also write books because that way I can order life as I want the way AR did, creating interesting places and people I'd love to be with in reality.
Dreaming without putting it in print can be even better. Transient maybe, but still very very satisfying.
