THREE MILLION CHEERS!
Thank you for both taking the time to read my lengthy message and for responding.
Yes, I have read WDMTGTS, and it is fantastic, as is all Ransome. Not only is is
a terrific story, but it also provides great insight into the character of the Swallows.
I found the near mutiny between John and Susan about whether or not they should turn
back very interesting and I think that Susan's battle, and eventual victory over, sea-sickness,
half due to the weather and half due to her worry about breaking her promise
to her mother, just as triumphant as the Goblin's crossing of the North Sea.
Although I was disappointed that the A's and D's were not in WDMTGTS, this in
no way detracted from the story as I truly gained a better understanding of the
Swallows from their interactions with the ship and the weather but mostly with each
other. I believe that PM is all A's and D's, and I hope it will be as revealing about the
charcater of the Amazons and the D's as WDMTGTS was about the Swallows.
I am looking forward to joining TARS, as reading and experiencing Ransome has always, right
from SA, been a treat.
Thank you again!

Swallows and Amazons for EVER!

Mary
