But I just have the ideas, Ian did all the work for this Tarboard. I hope you will make new friends through your interest in Arthur Ransome. The Arthur Ransome Society [TARS] has a big group in Canada I think. I now count Ransomites among some of my best friends [and I encourage my other friends to become Ransomeites!].
By the way, do you realise how Ransomeish the name Mary is? Mary Walker, Mary Swainson, Molly [short for Mary] Blackett, Maria [Italian/Latin for Mary] Turner, and even Polly are all Marys! I also think Dick's and Dot's mum is a Mary, because their father must be named after Dick, and the wife of an archaeologist called Richard simply must be a Mary. Can anyone find any other Marys in the saga?
