If you watch the film very carefully - in a totally unacceptably dispassionate way (!!!) - just as Roger finds the camp site you can see him work his way through some brambles and there's a chimney in the background.

Whether the campsite itself is filmed at this same location or they switch back to another location after that I'm not sure.

A wide variety of locations are used on the film (Peel, Blake, even Rampsholme on Derwent Water, which often seems to get mixed up with that other Wild Cat contender on Windermere...) It has crossed my mind that the odd shot might be on Belle Isle because the vegetation, etc. looks island-like but you can see that chimney and obviously it has the benefit of mains electricity on the island, etc.

But of course it's better to suspend disbelief and it's all just Wild Cat Island!
