That is what the potter's "fettling knife" that I mentioned earlier was used for - finishing or putting the "greenware" (unfired pottery) "in order". As far as getting older, we are as old as we feel - and I usually feel like I am the same age as the Swallows and Amazons -- maybe about Roger and Titty's age! (Thank goodness the body is still in fine fettle! - and this is after a 500 mile drive today! Maybe my '83 Honda will become "Rattletrap"!)
