An extraordinary article appears in today's Guardian newspaper (UK) (see Guardian website). It is headed 'An accident at sea shows just how trite Ellen MacArthur's you-can-do-it philosophy really is'

The author is 'Dea Birkett', and she goes on to say (about the dismasting) 'this unfortunate incident also scuppers MacArthur's homespun can-do philosophy and she later refers to 'this cod philosophy'. In the rest of the article she manages to connect all this to the socially dispossessed in the UK and throughout the world.

One gets used to non sequiturs in the Guardian, but this one takes the cake. Has anyone else read it?
