Here in northeast Pennsylvania, our lake has 24 inches of ice on it. Last year at this time I had been sailing a number of times and we actually swam the first week of April.

What are lake temperatures like in the Lakes Region? While there are a number of references to swimming, most deal primarily with bathing. Do the lake temperatures discourage swimming?
