1848 Lanehead was built on site of demolition of Penny Alehouse by Miss Creighton of Bank Ground. She later left it to the Rev H.A.Starkie. It was tenanted by Dr Bywater, and after by Mrs Melly of Liverpool.

1858 The Bywaters were living at Lanehead.

1876 Mrs Melly, widow of Andre Melly of Liverpool moved in. Her son George lived in Liverpool, but spent much time at Lanehead. He had a son George who also came to Lanehead.

1880’s The Collingwoods visited Lanehead as guests of Mrs Melly.

1884 George Holt first rented Tent Lodge. Lanehead was then rented by the Holts of Tent Lodge, who gave it to the Collingwoods to live in rent free.

1891 The Collingwoods moved in.

1910 First mention of Arthur Ransome staying at Lanehead.

1915 Ernest Altounyan married Dora Collingwood.

1932 WG Collingwood died. Lanehead sold to Ernest Altounyan.

1942 Robin Collingwood at Lanehead.

1967 Lanehead purchased by Middlesbrough Borough Council.

This is the site for lanehead. The picture of it looks a bit like Beckfoot but not fully.
