for shorter distances we use owl calls - needs a bit of practice but once you've worked out how ( hands sealing properly, angle of blowing etc. ) surprisingly audible/distinguishable/locatable as a get back here right now message.


I can see Dick beeing interested in Motorola Talkabout radios

have a compressor you can get a refillable one and do just that to it when you need to

there's one that one can buy from cycle shops that you can pump up with a bike tyre pump.
