PD (and by association ML) are written by the S&A's themselves. One of the first drafts for PD is published in Christina Hardyment's book "Arthur Ransome And Capt. Flints Trunk" as "Their Own Story"(?)
I do still like PD, (I've never really enjoyed ML as much as the other books) even if it is a flight of fantacy it is still a damn good yarn.
