If they climbed the Matterhorn on the 2nd August then that would have been in the first week of their school holidays (assuming the holidays are as they were in the early 1930's.)

I think we all wish we had an CF in our lives, mores the pity most do not. He would be good for your mental health. I woul dhave thought perhaps by the time he reached 45 or so he could stand up to the GA.
