If Nancy was 13 and Peggy 12 in S&A, as listed in FAQ-Characters from The Arthur Ransome Site, Nancy would have been born in 1917 and Peggy in 1918. Which leads me to ask, when did Bob Blackett serve in the Great War, unless called after Peggy's birth? Also, if Molly was 10 in 1895, as suggested in this thread of posts, she would have given birth to Nancy at age 32, Peggy at age 33. Was this a common age for motherhood to begin in early 20th century England?
