Yes, I instinctively feel that Richard G has got very close to the fictional 'truth' about Bob Blackett. It just somehow fits - invalided out of the Border Regiment as a private or junior officer, only to die a year or so later. I wonder how much we can deduce about a man from his elder daughter? (I don't have a daughter.)
