If you have not read the following book, try and find a copy from somewhere (I think it is out of print) :

"Christina Hardyment: Arthur Ransome and Captain Flint's Trunk
Jonathan Cape, London, 1984"

In the book Christina (and sometimes her family) visit the Lakes, the Broads, and the Walton Backwaters seeking out the places, and some of the people, from the S&A series. She uses clues found in AR's own trunk, found in the Brotherton Library, University of Leeds. It also contains AR's "Their Own Story", the original introduction to "Peter Duck", with the S & A's plus CF on a frost-bound wherry making up the story, as referred to in SD.

Pretty much essential reading for an AR fan.

She is also one of AR's literary executors.
