Minas Tiryth was of course at first called Minas Arnor (Tower of the Sun) with its sister city Minas Ithil (tower of the moon) on the other side of Anduin. When MInas Ithil was taken by the Nazgul(sp) it was renamed Minas Morgul (tower of Dread - I think)and Minas Arnor renamed.
Oh no... now everyone knows I'm a Tolkien bore as well as an A & A one!
