I understand Peter Hyland's concern about a web site which appears to be largely static. But I don't think it is a recipe for inertia necessarily. While this may seem to be self-serving, please note that the AR site is intended to be repository of things of interest to AR fans and to TARS, and to serve as a resource for those newly come to the site in addition to those of us who predate it.

Thus the site is largely accretive, and an awful lot of what's there isn't going to change unless it is removed, although things are indeed added -- I'm thinking of the Lit Pages and the Slide Show, for example. Other areas, such as the TARS Stall, the page on videos, Dick's Pocket Book and the page on AR-related Links, are updated when we find or are sent something to add. It isn't going to give the appearance of something which regularly turns over, like the Tarboard, which serves a different purpose.

By the way, Peter H. has donated his Index to Mixed Moss and selected index to Signals, and updated it for the purpose (see the Literary Pages), so he's certainly entitled to express concern. And the more contributions or comments we get, the less stagnant things will be - whether we are dormant or active ourselves.

Before someone asks Terence where he got the "2002" date, the "FAQ" section is a set of pages, one for each category, and each has its own last-updated-date. Several haven't been updated since 1999; one at least was done in 2002 as Terence says.
