Yes, I did start from SA and hence met the S and A's first. I think that's why it
has taken me a while to really appreciate the D's. I just recently finished PM and
it was outstanding!!!!!!!!!!!! The insight it offered into the nature of the A's and
the D's was fantastic. Every time I read Ransome, it gives me more respect for the
characters. From ML:Roger's Latin abilities, Titty's willingness to give up Polly to save
Captain Flint, Susan's decision to go through the gorge, John's navigation, and from PM
Dick's incredible efforts to be a proper sailor, Dorothea's worries about keeping
a Susanish camp and the Amazon's, especially Captain Nancy's, efforts to be angels in front of
the GA for the sake of their mother-they're all fantastic!!
