Does anyone know which pipe tobacco Arthur Ransome smoked? His writings suggest that he was an avid pipesmoker but no one seems to know what he filled his pipe with.
This is odd. My father was a pipesmoker and over the years his empty tobacco tins permeated the whole house - a long time after his death when my mother was moving house we were still finding scratched old tins filled with nails, screws, paper clips and so on.
