Peter,

I had similar "deja vu" feelings. Seems like I have been there before. Looked through my records, and apparently it was not important for me to have archived that effort. Oh well, maybe after a few more times, we'll get this in the FAQ section somewhere.

It is interesting to note the relative importance or popularity of cigarettes as compared to pipe or cigar.

Dr. Dudgeon was the only decent chap to use them, as the others were the heavies, Owdon and friend, and those tourist types intent on setting of fires on the shoulders of roads.

I have a feeling that at least in the USA, that the usage of cigarettes took on a much more popular acceptance as a result of the tobacco companies being sure that for their part in helping of the war effort, they saw fit to be sure that the boys overseas were well supplied with cigarettes - and that got them started, and then hooked, and came home to be a confirmed customer. Good promotional effort.
