At the end of WH Peggy says “shiver my timbers” and Nancy says “who taught you to shiver timbers”. Then Peggy says she also used other “Nancy” terms like Jib-booms and bobstays; Barbecued billygoats and Galoots (how do they translate?).

Nancy is rather bossy, and possessive of her expressions!

Earlier in WH (Ch X) when Nancy is signalling from the window she sends S.M.T. Dorothy asks “what does she mean”? Titty says “shiver my timbers” and everyone laughs except for Nancy (who scowls).
