Some time ago several contributors to Tarboard had fun trying to guess the name of a new boat - I seem to remember that eventually we found out that the name was the dreaded Margoletta.

My "new" 10 foot clinker-built gaff-rigged pride and joy is returning from restoration tomorrow.

Any guesses as to her new name? Definitely Ransomish, something to do with the twelve books - but, as far as I know, not used before (at least not in a Ransome sense). She is about 70 years old and had certainly seen better days when I acquired her.

The current plans are that she will be named on July 12th at a TARS Northern Region event. Ginger wine will, of course, be involved, but as the event is on Windermere some imported Coniston water will also be used, Coniston being her true home. Her name is already painted on the stern, so who can discover her identity? Those who already know please keep quiet!

One clue to start you off - her name has something to do with my particular Ransomish interest (see my website).
