I know "Hirondelle" as a wine and as the name for Simon Templar's car in the original "Saint" books by Leslie Charteris, neither of which seem relevant in this instance - as my French vocabulary does not stretch to translating it, could someone explain the relevance ?

Hirondelle = swallow

didn't know about the Saint's car's name, but in the TV series his car was the sports version ( P1800 ) of the Volvo .... Amazon.
