I hadn't read any except the 'Lake' books for years (still my preferred reading) but after the last anti-GN, Coot Club, Big Six, Peter Duck discussion, I aquired them and was pleasantly surprised. While not having the same charm of the others, I think each has its own tag that keeps the reader interested, a pretty good achievement for any author.
John, do try Missee Lee again - I think you're in for a treat!
