Vancouver is very lucky in having a large Chinese population. What this has done for the food shops and restaurants can't be measured. The Chines bakeries are second to none. If you want a lightly-flavoured mango birthday cake with fresh REAL cream, for example, go to such an establishment. The Chinese don't tolerate ersatz cream or ersatz anything when it comes to food. Artificial flowers, however, are another matter altogether.
