It seems to me that some of this discussion is getting rather a long way from "appropriate-ish". Debating whether AR had Marxist (or Christian, or Feminist, or -- for that matter -- Moonie) sympathies has to be entirely appropriate to this forum. Debate -- with or without vitriol -- whether these philosophies/practices are themselves good, evil or just silly should take place somewhere else.

Beyond the question of "appropriateness" (and I confess, before being accused, that I have occasionally started some discussions pretty tenuously linked to AR) is that of courtesy. Some postings (no names) are becoming distinctly offensive in tone -- largely, I suspect, because the discussion is veering off into broad lifestyle and philosophical questions. OK, I can get testy when people will insist on saying "Lake Windermere", but I like to think the tone of my comments is far removed from that of people attacking/defending Marxism, Christianity etc.

Let's keep somewhere near the topic -- and lighten up, folks.
