There are nitrates in many explosives, yes. But I think nitrates are soluble, so crystalline traces would probably have gone by now.

I'm thinking of Dick, recycling the tent pegs for blasting in the Gulch. "Come on Professor, here are the ones from Titty's tent. Make it a really big one!"
