Turmot:

It is not in the complete Oxford English Dictionary at all.
So if it is dialect word it has not been recorded in the Broads.

It is a Polish name - a Motel is called that in Warsaw.

Funny the picture that AR drew of the turboned one always gave me a clue as to its meaning.

We should write to the OED and point out the usage. To do that Ed we need the exact pages and editions of the book?
