There has been a good deal of travel between the Isle of Man and the Lakes. One of the more interesting was the sailing yacht Peggy, a schooner rigged boat which was built in the IOM, sailed and transported to Windermere where she raced in a regatta in 1796. She then sailed back and was walled up in a boathouse in Castletown and forgotten for almost 150 years.
