In Japanese translation, published in 1960s, the word used for "natives"(as found in Rio or Holly Howe) is now considered derogatory (esp. as to mean primitive people) and would not have been used nowadays. This worries many Ransomites in Japan as it might lead to controversy and out of print. The same kind of discussion can occur on the stories of Dr Dolittle, though.
