Yes I agree about the techniques, we are trying to teach methods that work and not just remembering lots of stuff. I think AR showed this well with Dick - how he could sit down and nut out a problem and if needed go back to basics.

I also think in PP he showed the basic difference between a 12 year old and an adult in the copper incidence in not having the experience to consider alternatives. That skill comes from failing and Dick had his failure - I am usre he never made that mistake again.
