No.... have I got this wrong? I was thinking of the nominative case - do we need a genitive here? I seem to remember something vaguely about ablative of price and genitive of value. Is that what makes it an -i ending?
Of course this would be clearer if I knew how to make my typing distinguish between long and short letters.

As for the 'let's be technical about small boats' people, I have to admit I love the fact that we get to eavesdrop on those conversations, what with me knowing nothing at all about all that stuff and wishing I did. When someone posts a message, most of which is words I don't understand, and I have to go off to my Oxford Companion to the Sea and look it up, I find that I end up remembering what the words mean. I even know what mousing sisterhooks means now!
