I teach in both metric and imperial as a result of where I am.
I have done enough exams to show the students that on average for an engineering exam they get about 10 % more by doing it in metric because they do not make mistakes translating feet to inches and the reverse.
i start the class by saying if you want a B do it in imperial if you want the best chance of an A do it in metric.
Most do metric in the end.
