I confess that though I got most of it, it took me about 24 hours to figure out "iam forte". We learned a different scheme for Latin pronunciation than what would have been taught in the UK in the 30's, so I kept trying to make sense of "iam forte" as "YAM FOR-tay" instead of "JAM for TEA"... the delay made the pun all the worse. Loved it; well worthy of Roger.
About twenty years ago, someone came out with a series of small books of "French poetry" which, when read aloud, had a strangely familiar sound to them. Wish I could remember the titles, but I am sure someone on the list will help me out.
