Differences:

AR used a compass that had a certan number of angles shown on the perimeter. You hold the compass up and point it to the pole and then take a angle measurement. There is always going to be an error in your reading, which can be that you point incorrectly, you measure incorrectly or you transcribe incorrectly. AR did all three on the map I have, I am trying to sort out his most probable solution.

If you look at the map of the rough bearings in SW you will see that AR gives two bearings that are different by at least 11.25 degrees, yet they are tagged the same as NNW (or something similar). The accepted error on any measurement is half the smallest unit which in this case is 5 degrees, so AR transcribed somthing incorrectly. I think at least 1/4 of his angles are incorrect, which is why I was seeking a map of the Island to check the outline.

AR is showing the problem with Roger's comment on not people not agreeing on the angle, I agree on that one example AR is being a bit extreme but the problem is very real.
