The solution is not to open posts with certain names attached. Saves a lot of annoyance. (Too bad about all the people who won't open this to read it.)
And John -- you have to be careful about using irony. I've been stomped on a couple of times for employing it (see my post about Camp Coffee).
About 5% of my students think I have no sense of humour. Fortunately, 95% seem to be Monty Python fans, so clue in quickly.
