Apologies to anyone who was dismayed by the heated exchange yesterday. However, I profoundly disagree with your sentiments. Tarboard has been compared to a chat among acquaintances, in a pub or bar perhaps. The conversation will usually be amicable, but every now and then an argument will break out. Tempers may be lost. That is life. Surely Tarboard should reflect real life. Do we really want an anodyne Tarboard where no one shows any real feelings about anything? A sort of festival of unrelieved bonhomie? My idea of hell! (AR could be ferocious when the mood took him.)

I would like to associate myself with everything Peter H says in this paragraph.
