How would you define navigating if it's not getting from one place to another? Does "navigate" imply hardship, stars, and sextants? Just because a GPS tells you where you are, doesn't mean you know how to get where you're going.

This is not orienteering, which involves navigating with a map and compass, but it doesn't pretend to be, does it?

I've never heard of this geo-caching before and while I'm not about to run out and look for a bunch of caches, it looks like a lot of fun, especially for kids. I was extremely surprised to see so many near me. In fact, I think one is on property conserved by the local land trust, of which I am a board member. Brings to mind some interesting opportunities.
