I think the references that Buchan made to race characteristics is the issue that is identified. I think it was a real issue after WW2. I wonder what Hannay would have done in WW2 if Buchan had lived to see the issue.

His writings far away the few slips of the tongue and we are all guilty of them.

McNab is really a great Ransome type story. How much childlike does it get excpet of course for the hunting, but then again Ransome hunts rabbits and trout and sharks (well Roger thinks they are sharks)

I have also been reading Robertsons SignPosts - an interesting point of view on the war and Ireland.
