Like Dave, I've never encountered another person where I've lived who read or knew of AR. My introduction came at the age of 12 when I received SW as a summer reading award from my hometown library. Oddly, the library had not, did not, does not have AR on its shelves. But I do--all 12 in hardback, the remainder acquired through various book searches.
