Well said, indeed, Peter. Indeed, I tend to think virtually none of the stories involving the Swallows could have happened without Susan. The Walker parents would never have let their children head off on their adventures without such a steady and dependable mate to make sure everyone was safe, warm, and fed.

She is by no means the most romantic of characters, but you could do much worse than have Susan on board when things got rough. Every ship needs a Susan (could easily be a male, by the way).

Sign me up for the let's-hear-it-for-Susan committee of TARS.
