Sorry, I wasn't at all clear.
What I meant was, that Dot turning detective in BS makes her resemble a sort of Miss Marple character and hence evoke the world of the English detective story - I didn't mean they lived in a village.

I associate that part of London with the Ds now, though I don't think it was ever resolved whether Professor Callum worked at London University or somewhere more northern.
