No more than two years ago, I observed that there were almost no postings on Tarboard over the weekend (making allowances of course for differences for posters across the planet), and relatively few in the evening for the local time of the posters. While I didn't do a thorough analysis I felt I had enough data to derive a hypothesis, which was that the majority of those posting on Tarboard were probably doing so from work.

There is a substantially increased amount of activity on the Tarboard over weekends now. I suspect that this means that more of us are accessing the Tarboard from places other than work (of course it could mean that we have some posters now we didn't have then, but these newer posters would be posting from places other than work anyhow).

While this might be interesting on the grounds of where people feel it appropriate to access Tarboard, I'm more interested in whether it reflects increased access to the Internet and the Web amongst Tarboard readers/posters and perhaps TARS members in general.
