Yes, I agree, David. However, during my hunting days, one aways gutted / skinned the critter as soon as possible, then left the meat to hang - for how long and where depended on the temperature. I suspect the stomach contents were pretty ripe by the time Dick did the job. No wonder: "No, I wasn't...But very nearly...."
