'BBC bashing' 'negative comments about the BBC'
Hey hang on, there haven't really been all that many. My own misgivings about the BBC are based on projections as to its future and the (to me) downward curve of the graph. I sometimes think the BBC is like the Queen - you are not allowed to criticise. Why not? I think the BBC, like all large organisations, needs a kicking now and then, just to keep it up to scratch.

Mind you, BBC-defenders have chosen a bad week. In the same week that the admirable S&A series has been broadcast (made by an independent company incidentally), over on Radio 2 we have had: on the weekly 'Best of Jazz' presented by H Lyttleton, they played the same one-hour tape as last week. At the end, the continuity announcer apologised. On Mark Lamarr's cult show 'Shake, Rattle & Roll' there was a 10 minute period of 'CD judder' - just a noise. Again, continuity apologised. Get a grip, BBC! (At least the apologies were given in RP.)
