David Lodge has written about another game (I think he referred to it as the 'Afer Dinner Game') where people had to defend a work that they had not actually read without letting on they hadn't read it! Lodge tells of someone who claims they caught out a professor of English Lit who had to admit he had not read Hamlet and so had to resign!
