There are lots of things in this world that we'll never undestand. Dowsing works for me with a forked stick or the L rods. In fact I don't know two many for whom the rods don't work. the old guy down the road would tie his wedding ring onto a thread. Hanging it from his hand he would move about. The ring would start swinging in circles over the water point. I know of one well that was dug based on his wedding ring.
This sounds like a great idea for a TARS day.
