Just finished reading "Thorstein of the Mere" and I particularly enjoyed the bit where the hero and heroine have to defend Peel Island from attack when the lake was frozen all around it. I suppose AR could not use a similar story for Spitzbergen in WH for fear of plagiarism, but a snowball attack by a horde of wild Eskimos (Amazons & D's ?) against the trapped explorers (Swallows ?) would have been rather fun.
