Several years ago I was visiting a friend in Southern Missouri when he was talking about this very subject and had me try it. I took two bent coathanger wires, one in each hand (I remember the wires were pointing out ahead of me) and he had me walk across the yard. At a certain point, the wires started twisting and turning. He then told me that that was where the water pipe came from the street into his house. After I had walked on beyond the place where the wires twisted and turned, like they were alive, they returned to thier original state. When I retraversed the area, they twisted and turned again. There was no extra pipe or any thing I held except the bent wires loosely in my hands. Very strange and wonderful! And I am normally agnostic about such things, but sometimes one has to realize that we don't know everything - nature is wonderful and we are busy trying to negate it.
