I read today that Lynne Truss has already made £750,000 from 'Eats, Shoots and Leaves'. Not so long ago, there was a discussion on Tarboard about what would be the next best-seller, and publishers were criticised for not taking risks. Well which of us would have taken a risk with a book about punctuation, for heaven's sake? Well done to Profile Books, the publishers, and of course well done to Lynne Truss for believing in her project.
